Love Finds You in Miracle, Kentucky by Andrea Boeshaar

Overall, the book was interesting enough to read once or twice, but I'm not sure it would reach comfort read status for me.

I especially liked how Meg found her way back to her religious roots in this story! The religious aspect wasn't preachy in this story, more like woven into the daily lives of the characters, as if to say that it was a natural thing to each of them. I found I could really identify with her! I liked how she made it a point to say at one point that she didn't want to take Angie's place in Vance and Cammy's hearts, she wanted her own unique place in their hearts because she was a different person than Angie was. Meg was a very kind and caring individual, though a bit naïve at times, especially when it comes to her mother and Kent himself. He wasn't much better than the jerk of a Phys Ed teacher, Kent! Meg may have overstepped her bounds some, but it was with the best interests of his child at heart! I also really didn't care for how he couldn't let his deceased wife Angie go, even though he was fully aware that he was falling in love with Meg. The fact that the book is heartwarming and touching hasn't changed this time around, but what has changed is my perception of the book.įirst of all, I found Vance's attitude very annoying. The first time I read it, I noted that I found it 'heartwarming and touching', leading me to believe that I would have rated it 4 stars. Though delighted by the attention his daughter receives from her pretty new teacher, the shy widower is embarrassed by Cammy’s not-so-subtle attempts to play matchmaker.As with most of the Love Finds You series, this was a re-read for me. Vance Bayer has always made Cammy his first priority. Although Meg admires the girl’s optimism, she pities Cammy for believing something so impossible. Cammy has spent most of her young life in a wheelchair, but she firmly believes that God will miraculously allow her to walk again someday. Meg soon garners the interest of Miracle’s eligible bachelors, but it’s eight-year-old Cammy Bayer who instantly wins her heart. She moves in with a grandmother she barely knows and takes a teaching position at the local elementary school.
